SEO & Digital Marketing Weekly Round-up News | 30th May to 5th June 2022.

Hello, Marketeers! Welcome back to the 4th edition of Infidigit’s Weekly Round-up News series. My name is Akarsh & in this episode, I’ll cover some of the updates from the digital marketing industry from last week.

  • First up on the list is Google Maps

Google is now showing justifications directly in the Google Maps mobile interface. Justifications are an additional piece of information about the business that Google thinks you want to see overlayed. This was first spotted by Joy Hawkins and shared on Twitter

  • Inlinks Launches New Keyword & Topic Research Tool

Inlinks, a widely popular content optimization software in the SEO industry, published an update to its keyword topic research tool that finds and clusters keywords by intent. With its new Content Optimization Editor, Inlinks has totally reimagined keyword research for SEO and introduced meaningful clustering and a whole new approach to satisfying user intent.

  • Coming up next – Twitter

Twitter has added a new way to spark more engagement within Communities. Since some tweets deserve a spotlight, mods and admins can now pin their Community Tweets. In an earlier episode, we had covered the launch of this new feature. You can find the link somewhere or in the description below if you missed it.

  • Next update from Google Ads

This is just a reminder – Starting June 30, Google will no longer allow the creation and editing of expanded text ads. Users will only be able to edit or create responsive search ads after this deadline.

  • Twitter To Roll Out Notifications For Search Terms

Twitter is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to subscribe to push notifications based on specific search terms. Users will receive alerts when new tweets containing a particular word or phrase are published when subscribed to a search term.

  • IndexNow Coming To Yoast SEO Premium

We will soon be able to see IndexNow; a Microsoft backed indexing initiative on Yoast Premium, one of the most popular WordPress plugins. For those unaware of what IndexNow is, it is an easy-to-use protocol that websites can call to notify Bing whenever website contents on any URL are updated or created, allowing instant crawling and discovery of the URL.

So far, Bing, Yandex, and Seznam support this standard, and there have been speculations of other search engines joining their ranks.

See you all next week.
